Study of something by LaroLaro
Neither a true study or copy but something heavily inspired by this image. I have to say I love the man's work.

State of the robot
Still a work in progress but I want to bring this to a finished level to be sure. I originally sketched this one out a few weeks ago and didn't touch it for a while but over the thanksgiving weekend I finalized the lines. They are still a little scratchy and uneven at points but I want to refine it.
I can see going in two directions from this point: Finalizing the lines even more and paying attention to the lineweight a lot more and colour it that way or just completely painting over it leaving no or minimal trace of the linework in which case the lineart would become less important and in fact could mostly be ignored as it would be replaced. It surprisingly difficult to decide how to go about colouring it which is something I suspect would be possibly easier had I not taken so long to work on it till now. I exaggerate not when I estimate its taken twenty hours or so to get to this point!
I have realized that before the end of the year I want to have 34 blog posts with new art, or more, in order to match last years quantity or exceed it. I want to be better at painting and in general illustration so it is a worthy goal! A lot of these paintings may not be super tight and hopefully will be a mix of environments and portraits. I could put up sketches but I do want the pieces to meet a certain level of quality.

Horse Practice
I took a break from working on a robot I put over twenty hours into over the long weekend. Working up to Godiva and need more practice as horses certainly are not something I have drawn a lot in the past! This is from photographic reference! I'm not sure the original photographer but it is pretty quick to find when googling"horse".
